The 19th
Annual Career Focus Luncheon will be held on May 2nd and 3rd at
Palazzo Grande Banquet & Event Center at 54660 Van Dyke. This is
a unique, real-world learning experience for Utica Community Schools
sixth graders, nearly 2,500 strong!
All of our sixth grade students will enjoy a meal and some
grown-up conversation with business and municipal professionals.
The day gives the children an opportunity to learn from
successful, working adults and come away with a better idea of the
education and skills they will need for 21st Century
careers.
It’s hard to tell who enjoys the luncheon more – the students who share their career aspirations or the adults who offer them their expertise and encouragement.
The Utica Community Schools Foundation for Educational Excellence, The Sterling Heights Area Chamber of Commerce and the Advisor & Source Newspapers co-sponsor the Career Focus Luncheon in cooperation with Utica Community Schools. All proceeds benefit the Foundation’s work on behalf of UCS students.
Workplace professionals are welcome and needed to serve as mentors that day to the sixth graders. If you or your company would like to sponsor and dine with a table of eager young students – as did last year’s sponsors – please call 586.797.6953
or email
email@ucsfoundation.org to leave your name and phone.
